Instruction
1. Try never to allow potassium permanganate to be absorbed in clothes and to dry up on it. Right after formation of spot it is abundant fill in it with curdled milk or serum. Let's the polluted clothes lie down in this liquid about 4-5 hours. You watch that the spot from potassium permanganate constantly was in serum. Then the clothes need to be washed off in cool water and if remained – to scroll stains it in the washing machine with laundry detergent.
2. Take oxalic acid and dilute it with water (5 g on half of glass). Enclose dry clean rag from inner side of the soiled clothes. In the received solution moisten cotton tampon and wipe spot from potassium permanganate. When cotton wool becomes covered by pollution, change it for clean. If you managed to remove potassium permanganate, then after processing of thing stretch it in hot water, and then – in warmish.
3. Pay attention to state and color of the spoiled fabric. If it has well absorbed in itself pollution or has white color, then it will be more difficult to wash potassium permanganate from it. Buy in shop of photographic materials or in chemical laboratory 10% solution of thiosulphate of the sodium known as fixative. Try to clean spot by means of this substance and water (25 g on 200 g). Act, as when cleaning thing with oxalic acid.
4. Arrange houses chemical mini-laboratory if you did not manage to reduce potassium permanganate spot by the listed methods. Get from chemists or photographers not only thiosulphate of sodium, but also a little sulphuric acid or metabisulphite of potassium. Your task is to acidify fixative slightly. Add several droplets of one of these funds for half of glass of its water solution and purify potassium permanganate from clothes. If everything is made correctly, then there will be reaction: permanganate of potassium will be clarified and will be dissolved in water. Wash distressful clothes in the washing machine, and try to handle artful potassium permanganate more accurately further.
