Gouache is paint on glue basis with addition of dextrin, arabic gum, softener, oil and dye. After use of gouache there can be resistant spots which are not giving in to removal by normal washing. As composition of paint pretty difficult, it is necessary to delete spots in several stages.
- - laundry soap;
- - Antipyatin soap;
- - white spirit;
- - gasoline;
- - kerosene;
- - liquid for varnish removal;
- - solvent;
- - acetone;
- - sponge;
- - the denatured alcohol;
- - glycerin;
- - ammonia solution;
- - "Vanish";
- - oxalic acid.
1. As soon as you have found spots from gouache, at once moisten fabric, densely soap laundry soap or Antipyatin, rinse thing in clear water, wash, dry. If spots on fabric were removed not completely, then process them the dissolving substances helping not only to get rid of coloring pigment but also to completely remove fat structure of the oil added to gouache and to dissolve film from glue.
2. For this purpose acetone, white spirit, gasoline, kerosene, liquid will be suitable for varnish removal, solvent 646. It is abundant moisten sponge with one of the specified means, carefully wipe places of pollution, leave product for 30 minutes, repeat processing, wash fabric in soap warm solution and then in the washing machine. Such way completely removes gouache, but is suitable only for resistant fabrics, such as cotton, sateen, jersey.
3. For removal of gouache from silk, velvet, velor, acetate, use the sparing solution from equal parts denatured, ammonia solution and glycerin. Apply means on sponge, carefully wipe places of pollution, leave for 30 minutes, wash product in basin, having in addition applied laundry soap, then make the normal washing intended for fabrics of this type.
4. Also for removal of spots from gouache from delicate fabrics you can use stain remover under trade name of "Vanish" which is produced for white and color fabrics. Read the instruction, apply means on places of pollution, take time specified on packing, add measured spoon of Vanish when washing.
5. For removal of fresh spots you can use mix of equal parts of oxalic acid and ammonia solution. Apply structure on places of pollution, take 30 minutes, rinse fabric in warm clear water, wash product in the washing machine.
