And here it is quite simple to cope with the small troubles and defects which have arisen at operation of upholstered or cabinet furniture. Such minor repair will help to return to your sofa, chair or favourite chair esthetic look.

- - metal strip;
- - joiner's glue.
Instruction
1. Define type of breakage of your furniture. Quite often house master should deal with break of wooden parts. And, the tree can break differently. Sometimes the "clean" change when sites of break equal and smooth, and the surface which is subject to pasting is very small takes place. Also angular change through structure of fibers which is eliminated with use of struts meets.
2. In certain cases at change of wooden parts the uneven surface with jags is formed. Such break can be eliminated with connection on the crest groove type. Apply joiner's glue in enough on both connected surfaces and strong press them to each other. Very small amount of glue will not allow wood to grab strong therefore it is better to put gluing slightly more demanded, and after connection of parts to remove the squeezed-out surplus.
3. At repair of "clean" or angular change use struts and splines. If, for example, it is about chair leg, apply glue in one opening and on edges of spline which is inserted into this opening. After that put leg on the place with effort; if necessary use the hammer.
4. Check, how strongly the second end of spline enters the second opening, if necessary file remove roughnesses. Apply glue on the second end of spline. Then densely bring down elements among themselves and remove surplus of glue.
5. At angular break of wood use metal strip, for example, from meccano. Also thin strip made of strong wood will approach. On surface of the connected products do dredging for strip. Connect parts together, miss the mark connections with glue and lay the strip fastening parts to the slot. Into place pastings place rather weighty cargo.
