1. Replace young chamaedoreas in annually early spring, and in general both adult, and young plants it is better not to disturb needlessly. Change is carried out only as necessary when roots occupy all free space in pot and begin to raise palm tree over its surface, at the same time sprouting from drainage holes. Despite this, the new pot undertakes diameter no more than 3 cm bigger than previous. Preference is given to deep and rather narrow pots as roots of chamaedorea grow in length. The good layer of drainage, 3-4 cm is surely put on bottom of pot. As drainage it is possible to use ceramsite balls or pebble, gravel. Before use about an hour is recommended to boil these materials for disinfection, then to dry up and use for designated purpose.
2. During change the roots disturb as little as possible, it is not necessary to straighten them, to cut or clean, shake out from them the old earth. Palm trees very much do not love it, they long adapt even after the accuratest change and if roots are rumpled or damaged, the chamaedorea can seriously ache or even to die. At change of the plant which is filled in earlier with rotten roots it is necessary to wash out all roots, to cut off decay and to powder all with pounded coal, trying to minimize movement of roots nevertheless. As soil ready mix well is suitable for palm trees, or prepare substrate independently. For this purpose the cespitose earth, humus, sand and peat in the ratio 2:2:2:1 is required. Also well the chamaedorea grows in mix of equal parts of vermiculite, the sheet earth, humus and the coniferous earth. Mix should not be heavy if at observance of all proportions it all the same sticks together, add sand or vermiculite before, still optimum consistence will not be reached.
3. How to replace, the chamaedorea is watered less to take it from pot it was easier. To take chamaedorea and at the same time it is as little as possible to damage and disturb its roots, with it it is the best of all to turn pot on one side, and, holding leaves, some time to take for a drive him on floor sideways, tapping on walls. Thus, roots and soil will be accurately separated from walls and, having taken for the basis, the palm tree can be taken without special work. If the set of roots has got into drainage holes and was mixed beyond their limits, it will be more difficult to take plant. For this purpose the bottom of the previous capacity with risk is required or to cut to damage roots either to cut off them, or to untangle and take out each root manually. After the plant is taken out, it is established in new pot strictly on the center and accurately pour the earth in free space from sides and a little from above, about 1-2 cm Earth cannot be stamped, in process of watering it will settle in the natural way, and then it is necessary to add new. After change the chamaedorea is not touched about a week, being limited to more abundant, than usually, sprayings, after that begin to water gradually.
