1. All citrus reaches enough large sizes sooner or later and needs obligatory change in larger capacity in process of development of root system. That the tree pleased you with the well-groomed, healthy look and tasty fruits, it is necessary to learn to replace it correctly.
2. The first what it is worth paying attention to, is the capacity in which there will be plant before the following change. Young citrus suits pot practically from any materials, the form is not of great importance too. The main thing — compliance of its volume to root system and good drainage. With age it is desirable to move tree to cone-shaped tub from tree. Each new pot has to be more previous on 3–4 centimeters, and tub on 6-8 centimeters.
3. To define that the plant needs change, it is possible on strongly expanded roots which it will be visible from drainage hole. If they have appeared there, means — roots have already filled all capacity of pot and the tree needs change. Usually young plants transfer to other capacity 2 times a year. Adults — are not more often than once in three years.
4. Change of citrus can be carried out at all seasons of the year. The main condition that adult plants had no flowers, buds or fruits. To facilitate the adaptation period, citrus it is possible to replace at the end of February when the phase of active growth begins.
5. For change of young people rutic earth mix is prepared as follows: the cespitose earth, the rerotting manure and the sheet earth mixes up. Recommend to add bank sand to this structure. For adult plants sand is replaced with the muddy soil. To improve development of plant, it is possible to add to mix superphosphate with ashes from calculation — 100 grams of mix on one bucket of the earth.
6. Before landing by the first layer the drainage keeps within pot. For this purpose it is possible to use chipped crushed stone, then there is layer with bank coarse-grained sand. Further wood charcoals layer keep within 2 centimeters and number of earth mix is filled up. Further in it the plant is located and the earth rest is filled up. After change the root neck has to be located at the level of edge of capacity. After everything is made, the soil needs to be humidified.
7. If during movement of plant its roots have been damaged, it is covered with cellophane film for creation of microclimate which promotes regeneration acceleration. After change while the plant is still weak, direct sunshine can be dangerous to it. Therefore it should be shaded.
