Ficus – one of the most popular house plants. Representatives of sort the ficus in the world is more than 900. They generally grow in tropics, subtropics. These are perennial shrubby and wood plants. There are also creeping copies – lianas. It is easy to replace ficus, however there are several moments which need to be understood and remembered. Requirement of ficus (as well as any other plant) in water depends on its age, properties of the soil, condition, phase of development of plant and also on season, material of container and some other factors. 6. Water plant that it was easier to be pulled out from container. Then take ficus from pot, remove top soil and shake the earth lump braided with roots. Stir up slightly plant and move to new pot where the drainage layer (several crocks laid by hump up and strewed with layer of haydite, pebble, sphagnum or small pebble) is already ready. Cover plant with earth.
7. With large kadochny ficuses which are problematic to be replaced arrive differently: one-two times a year to them change top layer of the earth.
8. After change at ficus growth because the root system needs some time for adaptation can slow down approximately for month. Especially often it occurs when the new pot is too big.
