The flycatcher is very interesting plant. It has long green leaves which consist of two slamming parts. At the edges of leaves, cloves are located. Leaves slam as soon as the insect sits down on them. The maintenance of plant in house conditions rather troublesome: quite often it should be replaced.

1. The flycatcher is considered marsh plant. Therefore the substrate consisting of peat, perlite and sand is necessary for it. Ratio: 4:2:1. As alternative substrate mix of sour riding peat and perlite in the ratio is applied: 2:1. Before use of perlite soak it in the distilled water within week. During this time change water two times. Do not use as substrate normal earth mix on the basis of peat from shop. Also for flycatcher it is impossible to add haydite to the soil. In its structure there are alkaline elements which can ruin plant.
2. The best time for change of Venus flycatcher is spring or the beginning of summer. The plant transfers change of soil to warm season easier and adapts to new conditions. Replace flycatcher every year if you water it not the best quality. Usually such water contains up to 50 mg/litre of the dissolved salts. If the content of salts in water is less than 5 mg/litre, make change every two years.
3. After purchase the Venus flycatcher is recommended to be replaced at once in suitable substrate. Probability that in shop the plant is in that pot, in what it since the birth is high. Therefore substrate in it, to put it mildly, any more not the superior quality. It was exposed to watering, loosening and other procedures more than once. If there is no opportunity to replace plant in the nearest future after purchase, well water it with the distilled water. Partially it will wash away the collected salts.
4. Roots of Venus flycatcher are bulb therefore it is very simple to replace plant. Carefully take plant above bulb and establish in pot with the prepared substrate. Then from sides to dosypta the earth. Bury flycatcher so that the bulb and whitish parts were in the soil. When placing plant in other pot try not to concern traps accidentally not to damage them.
5. One day before change spray plant with the medicine Epin. Ratio: 2-3 drops on 200 ml of water. Epin regulates and makes active protective properties of plant. So, it will be easier for flycatcher to have stress after change. And during change spill substrate the medicine "Ribav-ekstra". It stimulates development of root system including bulbs. Gardeners also use "Ribav-ekstra" for improvement of survival of plants.
