1. Replacing lilac, it is very important to observe landing terms. The most favorable for change the period from the middle of August until the end of September is considered. 2. For change of lilac it is the best of all to choose the site on the plain or gentle slope with good drainage. The groundwater occurrance should not be closer, than 1.5 m from surface. The lilac develops on moderately damp fertile soils with the acidity close to neutral (pH 6.6-7.5) better.
3. When the lilac is replaced in optimum time, for the normal growth of bush one abundant watering suffices. When the plant cannot be replaced in time, it is necessary to take additional measures to neutralize adverse factors.
4. If before frosts there is less than a month, recommend to powder right after watering pristvolny circle with peat, wood chippings or dry leaves. The layer of mulch has to be thick, not less than 20 cm, it will protect the soil from fast freezing.
5. The basis of trunk needs to be isolated from the mulching material, otherwise after warming the probability of emergence of decay increases. It is possible to isolate trunk by means of piece of plastic bottle. When snow descends, the mulch should be removed, otherwise it will interfere with warming up of the soil.
