The monstera, as well as any other plant living in conditions of "house bondage" requires regular care and change. The plant is younger, the quicker it occupies all space of pot and to it becomes close, so comes it is time to replace it.
Instruction
1. Depending on age, the monstera is landed through different periods. The plant up to 3 years is replaced once a year in the spring. Young 3-4 summer escapes replace 1 time in 2 years, more seniors completely replace only once in 5-6 years. But at the same time once a year irrespective of age, at monstera remove top soil and pour new, clean.
2. Before change, the monstera should be spilled. You should not take for monstera big pot at once. Increase diameter of vessel gradually. So, fill on pot bottom drainage layer from beaten tile, stones, coarse-grained beach sand, insert into the center support for monstera from bamboo or stick, having enveloped peat dust which is fixed on stick bechevy. Reversing by moss will help to maintain normal humidity in pot and also will stimulate development of air roots.
3. Then is closer to the middle put the monstera taken from old pot vperevalka. Earth mix for change of monstera is prepared from 2 parts of humus, 1 part of the turf, 1 part of peat and 1 part of sand. Powder with this mix monstera roots, fixing in pot and stamp a little and fill up the earth to top. Do not forget to water plant.
4. After change the monstera some time is in stressful state therefore be not surprised if any time she is oppressed. Within 1 week it is not watered any more.
5. If you want to multiply monstera, then for seedling use the top and average shanks at least with 1 peephole. They can be implanted in the substrate consisting of clean coarse sand or mix of peat and sand in identical ratio. In 30 days the implanted monstera can be replaced in "adult" pot.
