How to replace primrose

Timely change provides to primroses optimal conditions for their growth and blossoming. Regular division of plant not only allows to multiply it, but also promotes rejuvenation of all bush.

Instruction

1. Primrose – the bright unpretentious primrose loved by gardeners for the saturation and huge variety of colourings, ability to long-term blossoming and simple leaving. But it is necessary to consider that quite short periods of time the primrose is capable to expand so widely that its sockets begin to restrict each other that negatively affects blossoming. Besides, the rhizome of primroses grows up Kosaya liniya, and very often plants perish because roots have appeared over earth surface, have frozen or have dried up from lack of moisture and nutrients. To provide to primrose healthy living conditions, it is recommended to carry out regular division of plant and its change.

2. Time of change depends on primrose grade – if the plant has two phases of active growth and blossoms twice during the season, then it can be replaced right after the end of blossoming. At the primroses blossoming once in April-May, the whole summer lasts dormant period. In early autumn the plant wakens and begins mortgaging of kidneys for the next season – during this period it is possible to make change since the primrose is full of strength and well adapts to new conditions.

3. Grades of primroses at which the root system badly gives in to restoration in case of damage or change of conditions are recommended to be replaced in the early spring before the blossoming period. The primrose crenulate, Japanese primrose, primrose eye belongs to such grades and the primrose golovchaty – their change is carried out only during dormant periods.

4. Before change of primroses it is recommended to humidify well the soil – it will provide the easiest extraction plant from the earth without damage of root system. It is desirable to disinfect garden tools previously boiling or washing in weak solution of potassium permanganate. The bush of primrose is dug out together with earth lump, carefully clean roots from the soil, wash out them in water and sharp knife divide plant into separate sockets. At each socket there has to be at least one kidney of blossoming. Cuts at roots powder with ashes or the pounded activated carbon. It is impossible to allow dryings of the prepared saplings – the primrose is very sensitive to watering, and in condition of stress at change without water can quickly die.

5. For saplings it is necessary to prepare landing poles about 15 cm in depth to which it is possible to add phosphoric or potash fertilizers. Sockets of primroses land at distance of 10 cm from each other in case of grades of the average sizes and 30 cm – if primrose large. Plants with small flowers can be planted densely that their leaves adjoined and formed shady space, well moisture-retaining. For improvement of survival of primroses it is recommended to pritenit plants and to pay special attention to watering in the first 10-12 days. Not superfluous will be also mulching of plants for protection against garden wreckers and excessive evaporation of moisture from earth surface.
