When windows are protected by nothing, they are represented to thieves in rather easy way for penetration into the apartment. And they often use it. Therefore inhabitants of the ground, second and top floors of town houses and country cottages should think of how to secure the dwellings against uninvited guests. How to make it? There are several ways of protection of double-glazed windows.

1. To reduce danger of hit of malefactors to the apartment through window, try to treat the choice of glass for double-glazed window for a start attentively. There are several types of special glasses. Some of them bear punches, for others at all – and fifty blows by the axe or shots from gun and submachine gun. The choice for you.
2. As option, establish design with double-glazed window from laminated glass with plastic film or layer of pitch inside – triplex. There is also cheaper way of protection: the film is rolled on already inserted internal glass.
3. Add strong glasses with protective accessories which provide dense adherence of shutters of window and it is equipped with mechanisms against breaking and the locked handles of a window.
4. Glasses whatever strong they were – it is all the same fragile material. Much better metal grids at windows with thickness of rods not less than 12 mm cope with protection of the house. Grids can be made walled in wall is the most reliable system. But it has large shortcoming: in case of fire or other unforeseen situation it is impossible to be chosen this way from the house. Therefore if you choose such grids, equip one of windows not with stationary, but removable, sliding or oar grid. As such window will be the most weak spot in your house, establish removable design on it their windows which is at all in sight. It frightens off thieves too.
5. Very good way of protection of windows against burglars – installation of rollets or rolstaven. This design represents the strong, but flexible metal cloth consisting of separate sections (lamels) which are reeled up on shaft. The shaft is placed in protective box and is attached over window opening. To dismantle such design outside when the window is closed, it is almost impossible and if after all to try to open it, there will be such noise which will make this invention just absurd.
6. Usually such protection against thieves happens quite enough. But if big values are stored in your house, it makes sense to equip it in addition and intruder alarm. On windows sensors of various types are put. First, it is sealed-contacts (magnetocontact sensors), wire and wireless. They work at disconnection or short circuit of contact, i.e. when opening window. Secondly, the infrared motion sensors reacting to the radiation going from warm-blooded beings, i.e. people and animals are used. "Immunity" from dogs, cats and other house living creatures is provided in many such sensors.
7. There are also sensors of breaking glass and acoustic sensors which catch rustle and other sounds which are made usually when opening glass. One more option – vibration sensors. They work at glass vibration. But this type of sensors is unreliable since it reacts also to false signals. Therefore install such devices only as a last resort and in such houses which are far from traffic area of roads.
