Their creators were faced by task to make the curtains from light fabric giving to windows of palaces and mansions additional feeling of luxury and cosiness. Today it is possible to tell with confidence that the French designers tried not for nothing – Marquis's curtains are still demanded and loved around the world. They represent the panel from light fabric collected in horizontal and vertical folds. Such effect is reached thanks to sewing of curtain tape to inner side of fabric.

- veil or organza, wooden bar 5 wide and 2.5 cm thick, two tapes
Instruction
1. To sew such curtain, prepare light fabric – veil or organza, wooden bar 5 wide and 2.5 cm thick. Length of bar has to correspond to width of window opening with addition of 5 centimeters. Also dense fabric is required to fit eaves board.
2. As it was already told, important elements of curtain of Marquis are two tapes – trekhshnurny and narrow. Length of the first corresponds to width of edge of curtain, and the second – height of edge of the curtain multiplied by number of scallops.
3. Before cutting for determination of width of curtain, carefully measure window opening. Its size will be equal to the doubled length of eaves board plus 10 cm taking into account two double hem seams. Length of cut will correspond to two expected heights of curtain with addition of 2 cm on registration of the upper edge and 5 cm - on bend below.
4. Then press on both sides 2.5 cm of edge of curtain and stitch side edges on the machine. After that press 2 cm edge on the upper edge and prepare trekhshnurny sboryashchy tape. Then study mathematics a little and calculate quantity of scallops and make marks of lines in reverse side where the sboryashchy tape will be sewn.
5. The following step – pin pins tape at the edges of curtain on all length, then stitch and press. Sew rings for durability double thread. Then by means of vertical sboryashchy tape carefully pull together cords and evenly distribute folds on all area of curtain.
