Producers both domestic, and foreign release huge number of types and standard sizes of mills which can be classified both by construction features, and by technology sign. From time to time they demand sharpening which can be made not only on universal and specialized machines, but also manually.

Instruction
1. During sharpening it is necessary to consider that they have rather big curvilinearity and extent of cutting edges of teeths. Sharpening them, it is necessary to trace that the surface of circle passed precisely on edge. In this regard difficulties are presented by sharpening of shaped mills which have backed-off corner. For simplification of work and preservation of shaped profile of mill the teeths having such corner are exposed to sharpening only on front surface.
2. On back surface there is sharpening of ostrozatochenny teeths which have the standardized curvilinear or rectilinear form. Sharpening of detachable or pro-carved mills is carried out on front and back surfaces of teeths.
3. Independently end mills sharpen thin diamond bar on front surface. Put bar on edge of surface of table or in case the part has deep dredging, fix by the clamp. For sharpening it is enough to drive it on bar. Before it remove the bearing from it. Moisten bar with soap or clear water, and after completion of process wash up and dry up. During process the front surface will grind off, and the edge will become sharp. Diameter of mill at the same time practically not to decrease.
4. If the sharpened part has guide bearing, then it needs to be removed. In the absence of such opportunity the sharpening can terminate in breakage of the bearing and the spoiled mill. Besides, before work from mill by means of solvent remove residues of pitch. That teeths were symmetric, make their sharpening with identical number of passes. At the same time pressing has to be uniform.
5. If cutters of mill are made of soft material, then for their sharpening it is possible to use abrasive paper which needs to be pasted on plain surface (firm rail or steel strip). Also sharpening of end mills can be made on the machine with small speed of turns of circle, applying at the same time necessary abrasive wheel.
