The ignition lock can jam at the most inappropriate moment. If to buy new, then with high probability it is necessary to change locks on doors and trunk that they corresponded to new key. At the same time, as practice shows, the most part of problems with automobile locks is connected with small breakages which can be corrected independently, having saved itself from need of new purchases.
It is required to you
- - direct and cross-shaped screw-drivers;
- - set of wrenches;
- - flat-nose pliers;
- - core;
- - hammer;
- - paper;
- - handle or pencil;
- - needle.
Instruction
1. Insert key into the ignition lock. Unscrew the lever of inclination of guide post and shoot false-pad with the ignition lock. Then remove the lower part of the protection cover of guide post. It is not obligatory to remove all casing. In deepenings from below unscrew 3 holding screws under the cross-shaped screw-driver.
2. Turn out two self-tapping screws which are located on the right and to the left of wheel to disconnect the top and lower parts of casing of guide post. For this purpose turn wheel before opening of access to self-tapping screws to the right and to the left. Previously it will be required to remove from them false-stubs knife or the thin screw-driver.
3. Release mechanisms of blinkers and janitors which fasten on guides plastic latches from above and from below and move them to the left and to the right respectively. After that you have to see ignition lock attachment bolts. Use the small hammer and core for twisting of these bolts as they have head which is cut off after twisting. Hold your horses.
4. Release wheel. Extend the ignition lock until it hangs on wires of contact unit. Disconnect all contact unit. It fastens on three latches. Top and side (from the driver) latches are rather readily available whereas lower is not. In order that to open it, thin screw-drivers wring out the top and side latches on the lock and turn out it from top to down.
5. After these manipulations, you will have lock in hands. Do not lose springs and contacts which could drop out at its detachment.
6. Shift the lock to table and prepare paper and the handle (pencil).
7. Take needle and bend it at right angle at distance about 2 cm from edge. Further insert this tool into small hole on lock side, press and turn key. After that the lock has to get out of the slot.
8. Turn larva so that to pull out stopper with spring. Then carefully pull out larva together with key from holder and get one more stopper with spring.
9. Put larva on table and examine lamels and springs under them. Holding lamels with fingers, pull out key. You watch closely that springs and lamels have not scattered in different directions.
10. Pull out on one lamel and write down its number and the location in larva in relation to key. Examine lamels and springs, wash out them, grease. The broken lamels and springs can be removed.
11. Collect the ignition lock, working upside-down. Use new bolts for fastening of the lock to guide post.
