Qualitative advantages of paving slabs have provided it wide circulation. In the cities it covers pedestrian paths, domestic territories are decorated. However to paving slabs there is place and on seasonal dachas where with its help it is possible to equip footpaths and the space for the parking of cars. The most important that it is possible to cope with this task and by own efforts if accurately to observe technology of laying of paving slabs.
What to stack paving slabs on
The technology of laying of paving slabs allows as the basis to use:
- crushed stone;
- sand;
- concrete mix.
Loose structures are very mobile and manually it is impossible to stamp them to dense state. Therefore if there are no additional skills and mechanisms for work with them, it is better to stop the choice on concrete mix.
At the same time, laying of paving slabs on sand is fraught with what through it will be sprouted over time by grass.
If the paving slabs are established in the place provided for the parking of cars, the basis will be required to be strengthened in addition by means of mesh reinforcement.
Preparatory work
Laying of paving slabs, as well as any construction jobs, begins with marking by means of construction cord. The cord is laid exactly on height of paving slabs.
By preparation of depth of the basis it is important to consider in what party water at rain will flow down and if the laying lies under inclination, then it should be strengthened by 5 degrees.
Having dug the bases under laying of paving slabs it is carried out at depth about 600 mm from the level of the tense cord.
The first layer – pillow from filling brick of average fraction which is rammed and filled in with cement slurry on 1.5 cm. For mixing of mortar it is better to use brand cement not below M400 in proportion 1 to 3 with sand.
That after laying, the basis under paving slabs has not cracked, it is necessary to provide compensation seams approximately on 3 mm in width. They are established from the help of the rails stacked directly after filling of concrete mix. As soon as the structure a little grabs, rails can be removed. In the turned-out grooves sand is filled up.
After mix completely dries, the concrete tie which represents the same solution, but more liquid consistence is filled in. It is recommended to do tie 2-3 cm thick.
Laying of paving slabs
The final stage, namely – installation of paving slabs, is made after the tie has grabbed, but has not managed to stiffen completely. Tiles are established to each other on the level noted by cord and are stamped by means of rubber hammer.
It is important to leave distance between tiles in 2 mm for what tiled crosses are used. The intertiled space is half filled up with fine sand, and later is filled in with concrete mix. If the structure gets on face side of tile, it needs to be removed immediately damp rag.
Sidewalk laying it is necessary to leave the next week before full drying up and to eliminate additional loadings.
