The shank is part of plant which is used for vegetative reproduction. Development of the imparted fruit-trees depends on condition of shanks and on how they were stored.
It is required to you
- - cotton fabric;
- - sawdust;
- - wooden boards;
- - sand;
- - plastic bag;
- - twine;
- - shovel;
- - boxes.
Instruction
1. You store the prepared shanks in garden. Connect the cut-off shanks in bunches and attach to them labels with the name of grade.
2. Put in a row, leaving between them small interval, and powder with the earth. You can dig in, having enveloped cotton fabric. Trench in shanks from North side of any building where snow long lies, and water does not stand.
3. With the advent of snow cover rake up snow shovel on storing place of shanks. Condense. Cover heap with leaves, sawdust or wooden boards. The snow shoulder has to be from 50 cm to 70 cm thick. This method will be suitable for regions where there is no thaw.
4. At rise of temperature of air and when thawing snow, move shanks in the dry cool room. Put them obliquely or vertically in damp sand or sawdust. This storage technique is admissible for grapes and seeded cultures.
5. Some time small amount of shanks can be stored in the fridge. For this purpose wrap them in fabric and place in plastic bag on the top shelf under the freezing chamber. Densely wind package around bunch and tie twine. You do not store shanks in the freezing chamber.
6. You store the shanks prepared for inoculation in the winter in cellar. Lay them in boxes with damp sand and cover from above with the metal gauze from rodents.
7. At storage of shanks exclude abundance of moisture at positive temperature. It promotes premature blooming of kidneys. The shank will begin to podprevat and will die.
8. Wet the shanks which have dried up at storage before inoculation for three days in clear water. Before soaking update cuts.
9. Per day before inoculation update cuts again and put them in clear water. Fabrics of plants will become impregnated with water, and their survival will increase.
