1. Pay attention that the majority of types of ficuses love light places, but not direct sunshine. When the place for plant is picked up correctly and appropriate care is provided, it develops strong root system, new leaves quickly enough appear.
2. Surely consider that the ficus breeds in the spring. The escapes taken at this time will get stronger by winter and your small ficus will much more quietly transfer winter cold weather. March and April – the most suitable time.
3. To take shoot, it is necessary to choose strong and healthy plant. The shank, for example, can be cut off when forming krone of adult ficus. Surely make sure that at the chosen shank there is kidney of growth of the following leaflet.
4. The shoot has to be about 10-15 cm long. Take sharp knife or edge and cut off it under oblique angle under knot. Do not use scissors and do not try to tear off stalk hands. So you will only wound plant fabrics that will slow down its further rooting.
5. Pay attention that at reproduction of large-leaved types, for example, the ficus lirovidny or ficus rubber-bearing, on shank has 2-3 leaves. Cut off the lower leaf, and wrap the others in tubule and record thread. It is necessary to reduce evaporation from leaves during rooting. At shoots of fine-leaved grades the lower leaflets also should be removed accurately.
6. On the place of cut and remote leaves there is lacteal juice which very quickly stiffens on air and significantly slows down process of emergence of roots. Therefore as soon as possible wash away it warm flowing water or put shank in water for 1-2 hours. Then depending on the chosen way of rooting either replace water, or dry shank.
