Cacti – rather undemanding plants. But to make friends with these inhabitants of deserts, it is important to provide them the most acceptable conditions: sufficient lighting and heat, timely power supply and suitable air humidity. At good leaving the cactus will present the owner with bright flowers and will be pleasing to the eye juicy, fleshy stalks.
Instruction
1. Choose the place suitable cacti in your house. Put pot on the most sunny side as it is possible closer to glass. During warm season it is possible to arrange cactaceous flat dishes on the balcony or in garden, in the greenhouse outside the window or in hotbed at the dacha. In the period of dream place succulents in shadow as in the winter they do not need bright lighting.
2. Plant plants in special tanks. The young taken roots cacti well grow in plastic pots where the earth remains damp longer. Succulents are more senior land in pottery. When choosing the size of capacity consider features of root system: rod-shaped roots need deeper pots, and low flat boxes well will be suitable for horizontal orientation. Square pots take less places at configuration on windowsill, however flat dishes of rounded shape provide more comfortable conditions of humidity and exchange of air. Surely check availability of opening for drain of excess moisture! For the best drainage put haydite or splinters of pottery on bottom.
3. Use the soil which is the most suitable to them for cacti. The earth has to be friable and it is easy to pass air and water. As succulents need different ratio of mineral and organic components, watch the chemical composition of the soil and observe its low acidity. Prepare for plants mix from equal shares of the washed-out bank sand, the sheet earth and wood charcoal. Strengthen the cactus basis by means of haydite, and tie up long stalks to support.
4. Replace the young cacti of times a year and which have grown up – once in several years. After change do not water plant within several days, do not expose them on bright sun.
5. For watering use soft clear water. If there is no opportunity to collect rain or melt water, defend within several days cold water or just boil and cool it. Do not water cacti during dormant period – from fall to spring. Follow the rule "better not to add, than to pour".
