How to tear rope

Usually, if there is need to separate rope into several parts, use knife or scissors. But what to do if there is nothing sharp near at hand, and to tear rope barehanded there are not enough forces? Here simple way with use of small cunning.

Instruction

1. To tear rope without use of any pricking or cutting objects, and just by means of laws of physics, reel up it on palm of the left hand thus as it is represented in the drawing.

2. Then take radical part of rope and reel up it on the right hand compressed in fist then pull it in the direction of the arrow represented in the drawing. The rope has to break instantly on bend which in the drawing is highlighted in red color.

3. If the cord at your actions does not break (it can happen because it very strong), just with effort several times pull radical part in the direction of arrow in the drawing and that part of cord which is highlighted in red color will at once burst from chafing. Pay attention that that part of rope which in the drawing is highlighted in blue color at the same time has not torn, and remained safe and sound.

4. This experiment clearly demonstrates that, the rope in case of interlacing of blue and red parts how strongly wears out (as well as it is shown in the drawing above). By the way such scheme meets in many unusual knots which are often used to achieve significant gain in force (i.e. actually they represent the simplest mechanisms).

5. Grind rope about sharp angle of any subject, it is desirable metal, it is possible to use also stone. Just clamp it so that he remained motionless and well tense rope with force you drive on keen edge. Under pressing of thread will begin to burst. It is possible to use also glass, but it often crumbles – be accurate.

6. Untwine rope. Even if you have in hands twine which threads densely adjoin to each other, just rub it in one place, and then squeeze, threads will weaken and in this place will be fluffed up. now it is possible or to tear them on one, or to fray.
