2. Calculate the mass of sand. The formula connecting volume and weight has the following appearance: m = Vp, where m – weight; V – volume; р - density. Apparently from the above-stated ratio to find the mass of substance, knowing its volume, it is necessary to increase value of this volume by value of density of substance. And size V is also the known quantity of cubes.

3. Transfer the received value of weight from kilograms to tons. The tabular value of density has dimension of kg/m3. Respectively, the value received when calculating will show the mass of sand in kilograms. To transfer this value to tons, it is necessary to know that 1 ton makes 1000 kg. Thus, the number received during calculations should be separated for 1000. Result – the mass of the available sand expressed in tons.
