Paths on the seasonal dacha are necessary. If to cover them with stone, then they will find durability and will become beautiful element of landscaping. The most popular ways of laying of stone – on sand and concrete bed.
Material selection, preparatory work
The following natural stones will be suitable for finishing of garden path:
- granite; - quartzite;
- slate; - shungit; - limestone; - marine, river rubble; - sandstone. It is possible to decorate garden path stone in several ways. Two of them are especially popular. Usually the stone is stacked on concrete bed, but it is possible to put on sand.
For both of these ways of laying it is necessary to prepare the basis at first. Take rope, pegs. Make marking of future path. Take out upper part of soil. If the path is intensively operated, then depth under sand base has to be 10-15 cm, under concrete - 30-40 cm. If it is the pedestrian zone, but not the lot of parking or the drive of transport, then digits decrease to 7-9 and 20-25 cm respectively.
Laying of stone on sand base
In the formed dredging fill sand layer of 7-10 cm. Spill it water, stamp, if necessary to podsypta still of sand that the layer corresponded to planned. Lay over it stone. Usually at the edges put large pieces, is closer to the center – small. Stones need to be pressed into sand slightly. Make it by means of hands and wooden mall. Stones have to appear at one height. Prepare mix from one part of cement, three – sand. Waters is necessary so much that quite liquid mix has turned out. Fill in it in gaps between stones. Solution has to be flush with them that the plain surface has turned out. After cement mix well dries, the path can be operated.
Laying on concrete bed
At this way to laying of stone the path turns out stronger and durable. Fill trench which you have dug previously, with layer in 5-7 cm of pebble or crushed stone. Properly stamp it. Fill from above sand the same layer, spill it water, too press. Prepare concrete from 1 part of cement and 4 – sand. Add water. Weight on consistence has to resemble dense sour cream. Put concrete on sand layer of 10-15 cm. Now take pieces of stone, stack them on the basis, slightly pressing. Prepare cement slurry according to the previous recipe and also fill in with it slots between separate elements. The path will look even more beautifully and will become stronger if on its edges you make fringing volume stone. It is put concrete bed on each side, pressing into it on third. After full hardening of solution you can go on beautiful footpath. Do path a little convex in the center that water during rain flew down from it.
