From furniture the chair most often becomes useless. You should not throw out it. If to update this product, then it will serve to you a lot more years. You perform work on updating of old chair on workbench or on table which is protected from damages by veneer sheet.
It is required to you
- - rough sanding paper of small granularity,
- - grinding sponge,
- - simple sponge for wetting of surfaces;
- - chisel (for removal of varnish from corners) or knife,
- - flat brush,
- - primer,
- - varnish.
Instruction
1. Begin process of updating with dismantling of chair. Invert chair. You will see that it is fastened by corners and screws. Turn off all fixing parts.
2. Separate back legs and chair back. You make assembly strictly in the return sequence, then all openings will coincide with each other.
3. Beat out seat, slightly striking with the hammer. Remove old varnish and layer with the coarse-grained abrasive paper which has eaten in tree of mordant. In hard-to-reach spots and corners delete with chisel or knife. Periodically humidify the processed place. By such method old varnish is removed easier. Delete the turned-out mass of old varnish with the palette or damp sponge.
4. When using the scraper you do not press strongly on the tool. Scratch out layers in one direction, then surface will look uniform.
5. If in processing of chair dents or chips have come to light, make wood inserts. Paste insert PVA glue and squeeze the clamp. After full drying of insert cut off chisel the acting part. Grind abrasive paper this site.
6. Having removed all old varnish, moisten chair with sponge. All earlier unnoticed places will become types. Dry well chair and grind surface very small abrasive paper.
7. Ground ideally ground chair surface. Soil will fill all micropores of tree and will provide good coupling of paint with tree. If you are going to cover your chair with transparent colored lake, then use transparent primer.
8. Wait for full drying-out of primer. Grind all roughnesses well abrasive paper.
9. Take flat brush. Apply the first varnish coat on the ground surface of chair. After drying put the second varnish coat. During the work with varnish and solvents put on respirator.
10. After the last varnish coat dries, start polish. You make it small abrasive paper. After emergence of opaque gloss process polish by means of cotton and gauze tampon. Polishing, you make circular motions.
11. Collect the updated old chair. Connect back legs to back. Insert parts into grooves and record them screws. Paste front legs in grooves PVA glue and fix by screws. The chair is ready for further suitable application.
