Instruction
1. The asbestos sheet represents the cloth with fibrous structure having high heat-insulating properties. Its cost is small therefore it is the most budgetary material for warming of walls and roofs. The main property which appreciate asbestos – high fire resistance. He is capable to create reliable obstacle for fire therefore he is irreplaceable in mounting of high-temperature units, oil pipelines, life support communications.
2. If asbestos is used for warming of roof or floor, its cloths stack in apertures between logs or rafters. For thermal insulation of walls it will be required to make furring of wooden bars which thickness has to correspond to height of edge of the used material. Standard thickness of asbestos sheet of different brands – from 1 to 6 mm.
3. If material is decided to be laid in several layers, calculate its height and for mounting of furring use the corresponding bars. The step between them has to correspond to width of asbestos sheet. After its laying in apertures of timber frame construction, wall sheathe plasterboard or other materials, suitable for this purpose: lining, plates of RSD, plastic panels, siding.
4. Asbestos when mounting thermal insulation of brick furnaces and metal is irreplaceable. It is necessary also in warming of flue. Thanks to plasticity of asbestos sheet, it can be enveloped around round pipes. For this purpose the cloth of heat insulator is moistened with water. In 20-30 minutes it can be bent without loss of durability of fibrous structure. To pipes square and rectangular shape asbestos sheet fix by means of dowels.
5. During the work with this material it is recommended to observe safety measures. That the asbestos dust did not get into respiratory organs, it is recommended to use respirator. If it is required to lay large number of asbestos sheet (for example, when warming industrial premises), mounting of supply and exhaust ventilation is necessary. In work it is necessary to use the clothes which are most qualitatively protecting integuments.
6. Data that asbestos is extremely noxious to health are in many respects doubtful. There are specialists chemists who consider this information of the false, extended for the purpose of increase sales of more expensive thermal insulation materials. Therefore the decision on use of asbestos sheet for warming of internal walls and floor needs to be accepted after thorough study of information on this material.
