It is impossible to call country house cozy and comfortable for permanent residence if in it there is no heat source. Most often such traditional source in owner-occupied dwelling is the furnace. The technology of construction of the heating furnace depends on architecture of your house, the number of floors, type of load-carrying structures, and many other factors. Before beginning to build the furnace, consider these factors and think over according to them furnace location in your house.

1. Want to bake so that its surfaces completely heated the room and at the same time were available to survey and cleaning. The best place for the heating furnace is the angular space closer to outer door that you could load easily and quickly the fuel brought from the street into fire chamber.
2. Think over position of the furnace so that the flue had the most direct form – the less turns will make flue in structure of your house, the draft of air will be better, and the furnace will be better to inflame.
3. If you need to provide with heat one room, want to bake in small distance from walls – do not put it closely to house corner not to spend in vain heat and to use all heating surfaces of the furnace. Always keep small interval between wall of the furnace and wall of the house.
4. For heating of adjacent rooms place the furnace in internal partition between rooms. At similar placement of the furnace you have opportunity of the simplest construction of smoke pipe. The partition on which the smoke pipe leans has to be brick and should not be thinner than 25 cm.
5. In case it is necessary to warm not only the house, but also verandah, want to bake so that its face side was from verandah, and other surfaces of the furnace gave warmly to premises.
