Sealant – irreplaceable means during the sealing of slots, seams, closing up of cracks and joints. It has incredibly high strength of coupling with different surfaces (wooden, brick, concrete and others). However at everything at the same time it has huge shortcoming: it is difficult to wash away sealant.
It is required to you
- - knife;
- - solvent;
- - abrasive;
- - liquid for washing of ware;
- - warm water;
- - sponge;
- - chemical means.
Instruction
1. If sealant already has managed to stiffen well, then for a start try to clean surface from it mechanically. Try to cut off accurately sealant knife. However if it is not possible to remove this substance and surface from which it needs to be cleaned, brittle, you should not pick out further persistently sealant knife: such attempt to clean surface from sealant can end with the fact that you will tear off it with piece of the basis to which it was pasted.
2. Apply on the stiffened sealant it is a little solvent and let's it stand. Later time you will find out that this substance will get kashitseobrazny state. It is possible to remove it by means of knife or abrasive (if you are not afraid to scratch surface). But there is also more sparing method: having waited when sealant becomes kashitseobrazny, apply on it several drops of liquid for washing of ware, and then sponge wash away everything (as a rule, everything is removed without problems). Then wash up surface clear warm water.
3. If all made attempts were not crowned with success, try to remove the stiffened sealant with special chemical, for example, of Soudal Silicone Remover. This gel substance is executed on the basis of natural solvents. It will excellently cope with removal of silicone and other polymers. However this chemical means cannot be applied on plastic surface (all this information is specified in the summary which it is necessary to study before starting solvent use).
