Pretty popular substance which the person in everyday life uses is potassium permanganate. It not only has strong antiseptic and antimicrobic properties, it is the most useful substance of household purpose. The only lack of potassium permanganate is that it soils everything what contacts to: hands, clothes, ware. It is impossible to wash potassium permanganate water therefore, as a rule, it is necessary to use for this purpose stronger means.
1. When using potassium permanganate it is recommended to apply gloves. But if it was not succeeded to protect skin of hands from this substance nevertheless, the soiled place can be cleaned by means of drawing on it citric acid or fresh juice of lemon. Both means needs to be taken on skin within 3-5 minutes, and then to wash away warm water. It is possible to clean hands from potassium permanganate also by means of hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid.
2. It is possible to wash potassium permanganate from white fabric by means of solution of oxalic acid. It is easy to prepare it. One teaspoon of oxalic acid needs to be parted in 100-150 pure grams. The received means needs to be applied on spot from potassium permanganate and to wait 15 minutes. Further it is necessary only to wash the polluted site of fabric with warm water.
3. Instead of solution of oxalic acid it is possible to use also 10% solution of hyposulphite which can be got in shop of photogoods. The place soiled with potassium permanganate needs to be moistened with hyposulphite, to wait several minutes and to wash thing in warm water.
4. From woolen fabrics it is much more difficult to remove spot from potassium permanganate. Wool – organic material. Therefore it categorically cannot be subjected to long influence of hydrogen peroxide and any acids. To try to remove spot from potassium permanganate from woolen thing it is possible by means of curdled milk, serum or normal kefir, having left one of these products on the soiled site for 3-4 hours. After this time the woolen thing needs to be washed in cool water.
5. It is possible to remove potassium permanganate spots from ware or floor by means of normal baking soda. If such way does not bring desirable results, as stain remover it is possible to use citric, oxalic, acetic acid and also hydrogen peroxide.
6. Very effective remedy in fight against spots from potassium permanganate is mix of citric acid and hydrogen peroxide.
