Pepper belongs to hygrophilous cultures. As soon as pepper lack moisture, plants immediately lose turgor of leaves, dump ovary, small fruits, cease to blossom. And fruits do not gain due weight. Watering is important component of agrotechnology at cultivation of pepper, and you should not neglect it.
Pepper demands regular watering from the moment of planting of plants both in soil, and to greenhouses. If on beds in the open ground of plant can water rain, then in greenhouses it is required to water pepper regularly.
During filling the first fruits on the lower tier the watering is the most crucial moment. For the first wave of fructification the soil moisture ideally is required to support at the level of 60%. It means that the soil has to be more damp, than for tomatoes, but less damp, than for cucumbers.
As it is correct to water pepper
1. Carry out watering only by warm water.
2. Watering will be organized often: every other day or 1 time in 3 days. Here it is necessary to take into account specific conditions of growth of pepper (structure of the soil, density of landing of plants, growth of plants, temperature and air humidity, etc.).
3. Plants water in the small portions 3-5 liters on bush. Roots at pepper small and superficially leave deep into soils. Roots cannot extract water as it is done by roots of tomatoes.
When pepper ripen and get biological coloring, water them slightly less often, not every other day, and time in 3-4 days, pouring out to the soil not less than 5 liters of water on plant. Especially the tall grades growing in greenhouses demand more moisture.
Mulching of the soil facilitates care for pepper and gives the chance to keep moisture longer, therefore, not so often to water plants and also not to allow weeds ""to walk"" on bed. Use of modern systems of drop watering also exempts the summer resident from this physical activity.
At the correct watering, pepper look good ""vigorous"", blossom and tie fruits that finally will affect receiving rich harvest.
