Minvata or penoplex: pros and cons

Minvata or penoplex: pros and cons

The most popular heat insulators – mineral wool and polyfoam which modification is "Penoplex". These materials are suitable for warming of walls, roof and overlappings of any building.

Each heat insulator has merits and demerits. For years of use of minvata and polyfoam the most preferable spheres of their application have been defined.

Characteristics of minvata and "Penoplex"

Mineral wool – fibrous material which is released in rigid and semifixed mats and rolls. This heat insulator is received by method of melting of magmatic rocks. The undoubted advantage of this material is that it not only not goryuch, but also interferes with spread of fire. Minvata of paropronitsayem, has low heat conductivity, is ecologically safe, has good sound-proof properties.

The main lack of this material is that it well absorbs moisture. It crosses out its many advantages at all. The wet heat insulator cannot interfere to the right degree with cold penetration, in addition, it is displaced down, baring part of wall. Therefore when using mineral wool it is necessary to mount qualitative Paro - and waterproofing. It demands additional financial and labor expenses. In addition, it is possible to carry its big weight to number of shortcomings of this material. For mounting of minvata much stronger frameworks, than for sheet polyfoam and its modifications are required. "Penoplex" - heater of new generation which is produced in plates. This material differs in the clearness of geometrical forms, lightweight, high heat-insulating properties. "Penoplex 31C" was succeeded "by Penoplex Comfort" which, thanks to availability of-shaped edge, allows to avoid emergence of bridges of cold. Plates of this heat insulator are easy on weight that provides simplicity and speed of mounting. As a part of material there are no hazardous substances therefore it is safe in terms of ecology. If when mounting minvata personal protection equipment as small fibers and dust are emitted are necessary, when using "Penoplex" of it it is not required.

That it is better: minvat or "Penoplex"?

If it is required to warm the base, there is no alternative to polyfoam. Mineral wool will not be suitable for these purposes. In other cases these heat insulators are almost equivalent. But mounting of minvata more labor-consuming and expensive. "Penoplex" wins not only in the speed and ease of mounting, but also on some other the reasons: it does not absorb moisture, does not demand powerful framework and waterproofing, it can be pasted to wall or to fix on it by plastic dowels. "Penoplex" can be used for warming of communications, blind area, road surfacings. If in the choice of heater is not only warm decisive factor, but also sound insulation, is better recommended to use minvata.
