At different depth proceeds to water of different quality: headwater can be polluted by drains of the next ditches, lower - is excessively enriched with iron, magnesium and other chemical elements. But not only these factors influence water well depth.

1. Well depth - the first question which interests the customer. Is what to think of when at the neighbor on the right – the well is not deeper than 10 meters, and the neighbor at the left has artesian well on everything 150. To answer this question, it is necessary to have general idea of water-bearing strata of the soil and quality of the underground waters which are in each layer.
2. Experts allocate four main "types" of underground waters (level of depth of their course varies depending on the region, structure of soils and other factors, but information is useful to overall picture): the headwaters proceeding at depth of 3-5 meters; the waters proceeding at depth up to 30 meters (the well is constructed); the waters proceeding at depth up to 50 meters (simple well); the waters proceeding at depth up to 200 meters (artesian well). At the same time the first three types of waters belong to glino-sand soil layers, and the last look – to limestone deposits. The well, the bigger volume of water is deeper it can "provide". The chemical composition of water can differ considerably even if between layers of its course difference only one-two meters.
3. Answering question what depth to dig the well, it is necessary to proceed from own purposes and requirements. If water is necessary on the site only for watering, then the superficial well of 3-5 meters will approach.
4. If water is going to be eaten, then it is necessary to dig more deeply to exclude water pollution by drains. Small wells are designed to provide with water seasonal dachas with the low level of comfort only during the summer period. Life cycle of such well is small, performance - about a half of cubic meter an hour. Not always depth of the well affects water quality, and usually in top layers water is suitable for use (if close there are no ditches).
5. If the water well is necessary for the industrial purposes, then it has to be sufficient depth to extract from it the required volumes. The artesian well is suitable for these purposes and also for the maintenance of the house of year-round accommodation. It is durable (serves up to 50 years) and contains enough waters of high quality.
