Polyurethane fire-prevention (fire-resistant) foam is intended for protection against the increased temperature, creation of the isolation permanent to fire. Material finds application for creation in works which need to be made taking into account requirements to fire resistance of object. Unlike normal foam it has pink or red color.
Characteristics
Polyurethane fire-prevention foam has the main properties: thermal stability, fire resistance. Its main characteristics:
- Good adhesion. Interacts almost with any building materials (metal, brick, glass, plastic, etc.), except for polypropylene, polyethylene, teflon and so forth.
- Moisture-proofness. Does not collapse under the influence of water.
- Resistance to UV rays. At influence of beams of the sun, material does not compress and does not collapse.
- The honeycomb provides stability of behavior of material eventually.
- Small shrinkage promotes increase in durability of connections. Quality fire-prevention foam has coefficient of shrinkage about 3%.
- Material will be polymerized (stiffens) within 2-3 hours. It allows to save time.
- Fire-prevention foam differs good warm, hydro-, in sound-proof properties.
- Environmental friendliness. Material is eco-friendly.
At direct influence of naked flame, foam does not burn, and melts and flows down.
Range of application
Fire-prevention foam is considered irreplaceable material when carrying out installation works on objects with the increased fire danger. Main application - installation of doors, windows. IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOST it can also be used:
- in mounting of electrical wiring, the plastic sewerage, foam fixes cable, pipes, creates protective layer;
- in the hidden works for protection of cables in the hidden cavities, elements of load-carrying structures;
- at cable laying through plates of overlappings;
- for seal of slots to provide tightness of rooms;
- elimination of seams, emptiness during the performing of roofing works, laying, installation of furnaces, fireplaces.
Features of application
Use of fire-prevention foam has features which, however, almost do not differ from features of work with normal polyurethane foam. Previously prepare working surfaces, having cleaned them from dust, pollution, oils, other substances.
Humidify the bases, it will allow to improve adhesive properties of foam, will reduce time of its hardening. It is better to ground uneven surfaces, using special material.
Lay up pieces of rags, cleaner. Before drawing stir up cylinder during 30 sec. Fill seams, slots on third of joint gap width as foam increases in sizes twice. Until it hardens, remove surplus, clean the soiled places.
It is better to use cylinder in warm weather that there was the greatest possible volume of foam. For implementation of works in cold season it is better to gain special structures. As option, heat cylinder, having a little taken it in warm water. For performance of work with polyurethane foam it is better to use special gun.
