Gatsaniya, or gazaniye is from South Africa. This beautiful African flower is very similar to multi-colored camomile. Unpretentious plants gain popularity more and more, more often begin to plant them in gardens, on street beds, along borders, on the balconies and loggias. Gatsaniya perennial plant on the homeland, but in our corner of the world grows only one year.
Description
Gatsaniya is undersized bush plant, no more than 30 cm grow. Leaves of green color and various form form the dense socket. Some grades of gatsaniya on reverse side of leaves have silvery omission which preserves against loss of moisture and cold. The flower begins to blossom in 3 months after landing, in July – August and prior to the beginning of frosts. Blossoms only in clear weather. In the evening and in cloudy weather of inflorescence are closed. Lobes differ in various coloring, can be painted in one or two contrast colors.
Types of gatsaniya
More than 40 species of the African camomile are known. The hybrid grades differing in large inflorescences and bright coloring enjoy special popularity.
Hybrid Gatsaniya. Inflorescences have diameter of 10 cm, in form distinguish – simple and terry. Possess the long period of blossoming and resistance to temperature drops. The variety of coloring favourably distinguishes this grade from others.
Single-flowered Gatsaniya. Height of bush is 12-15 cm. Light yellow inflorescences about 5 cm in the diameter, blossoms from July to September.
Tough Gatsaniya. Perennial plant with dark green leaves. Baskets, in the diameter of 5-6 cm, are painted in two contrast colors, are located in environment of white, orange or pink lobes. Blossoms at the end of June. The most widespread grade.
Dlinnostrelkovy Gatsaniya. Flowers of yellowy-brown color with diameter up to 7 cm. Begins to blossom with the end of summer and to the first frosts.
Brilliant Gatsaniya. It is distinguished from all flowers in garden with the unusual beauty and form of flowers. Reveals only at sunlight.
Peacock Gatsaniya. Flowers with a diameter of 8 cm, yellow or orange coloring with black stains on the center. Blossoming time – July.
Linear Gatsaniya. Flowers with many options of colourings, with strips and impregnations on lobes. Ascends in 2-3 weeks if it is planted in fertile soil. Blossoms to the frosts.
Landing and leaving
It is worth planting plants on the solar site, without drafts in fertile soil. The soil before landing is well dug over and introduce fertilizers. The lack of underground waters is important, the flower has long root.
Begin to land gatsaniya in May. Put together with peat sack not to damage root. Distance between bushes of 18-20 cm.
To water as required. The excess of moisture is contraindicated to flowers. At excessive dryness the flowers begin to become shallow.
Regular fertilizer of plant will help with forming of large buds and long blossoming. As fertilizing it is possible to apply fertilizers to cultivated flowers.
The plant is resistant to wreckers and diseases. Can adjoin to any plants.
That new flowers were quicker formed, it is necessary to delete faded regularly.
