Right choice of water supply system and water pipes

The water supply system is one of the major among all intra house communications. Water pipes and material of which they are made have to be selected taking into account features of work in certain conditions. But how to choose good and qualitative water supply system for hot or cold water supply?

Pipes from polypropylene, copper, steel and plastic

The water supply system from polypropylene pipes differs in the affordable price and universality – they can be used both for hot, and for cold water supply. Pipes from this material apply to the underground sewerage and heating services. Technically they are similar to products from the sewed polyethylene, however the polypropylene pipe costs much cheaper and connects welding.

Any polypropylene pipes are suitable for cold water supply, and for hot – that equipment which is reinforced by metal and fiber glass is exclusive.

Corrosion-proof and copper pipes which are suitable for both types of water supply are also universal and are the most durable. If you are not going to save on the water supply system, buy only pipes from copper.

The steel water set loses the former popularity today. Despite the low price and reliability, metal pipes have the mass of shortcomings. They are subject to corrosion, deposits on walls, not esthetically look and demand erection welding. The plastic water supply system is most popular today. Pipes from this material are not subject to corrosion, have high chemical durability and long life cycle (up to 50 years) and also have low heat conductivity and are simple in mounting.

Water supply system from polybutylene, polyethylene, PVC and metalplastic

Polybutylene pipes are rather elastic, have low thermal expansion coefficient and are resistant to water temperature to 90 wasps. Such equipment is often used in the system of heat-insulated floors and connects welding method. Strong and elastic polyethylene pipes are ideal for cold water supply as when freezing they are not torn that is very relevant for country water supply system. Pipes from the sewed polyethylene which connect fitting are applied to the hot water supply and are more expensive, than polyethylene.

Choosing pipes, do not forget to consider also the cost of connectors which is in certain cases higher, than at pipes.

Pipes from polivinkhlorid are the most rigid and resistant to ultra-violet radiation. They perfectly are suitable for open wiring and both types of water supply. Metal plastic pipes possess the three-layer building, are corrosion resistant, weigh a little, easily bend and perfectly keep the necessary form. They are durable, simple in mounting and do not demand welding. For hot-water supply release pipes of white color, and for cold – blue or blue.
