At summer garlic there are a lot of advantages. There is opinion that it is many times more useful winter as gathers more valuable substances. For this reason Japanese prefer to use only summer garlic in food. Besides, it is better stored and is capable to lie without problems even till new harvest. His winter fellow in this plan is whimsical. Often it quickly dries and is started up in growth. Two-three months for it - storage limit.
You should not delay with landing of summer garlic, especially that who lives beyond the Urals. In the conditions of cool climate it can not ripen till fall. Optimum time for landing of garlic - the end of April - the beginning of May.
For a start decide on location of garlic bed. This culture loves when to it often change "place of residence". Experienced gardeners try not to land garlic on the previous place within five years. However not all have such opportunity therefore the place of landing needs to be alternated at least in 2-3 years. Do not plant garlic on that place where to it grew onions, tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, pepper, otherwise it can be struck with fusariosis.
Garlic well grows after pumpkins, squash, bush pumpkins, bean, cabbage. Also he loves the neighbourhood with strawberry beds.
Approximately one day before landing of summer garlic pave the way. Deeply dig over it on full bayonet of shovel, surely remove weeds and you prorykhlit the soil. You should not fertilize it manure.
