How to prepare floor for painting

How well it will be possible to paint floor, depends also on quality of training of surface. From wood first of all it is necessary to eliminate old paint or varnish. It is possible to make it, using metal brush. Though sometimes up to the end it is impossible to clean old paint and varnish structure. Then floor should be processed solvent or to pass on it the grinder.

Further cracks and considerable gaps between the next boards are removed. For this purpose they are covered with putty. When the structure dries, floor will need to be processed drying oil or special primer. It is possible to use structures which contain antiseptic components. Then the wooden floor will be protected even better.

How to apply paint on wooden floor

If between the next boards there are no noticeable height differences, to paint floor in the bigger square it will turn out the ordinary roller. Naturally, processing of hard-to-reach spots all the same will require narrow brush. It is desirable to close areas which are not required to be painted previously painting adhesive tape or just to paste on them polyethylene film.

Paint should be applied with thin layer as otherwise it can quickly peel off. In total at least 2 layers are necessary to receive qualitative result. Before the second layer is put, it is necessary to wait for full drying of the first. If painting is conducted by brush, the second coat of paint has to be put across the first.

How to eliminate the remained defects

Sometimes even at all efforts on wooden floor all the same there are some defects. For example, it can be smudges or other shortcomings. It will be possible to get rid of most of them if to use the most plain emery cloth. Though sometimes it is necessary to recolour some areas. In this case at first it is necessary to remove earlier applied paint in the same way that has been described above.

Anyway, it will be possible to receive qualitatively painted wooden floor all the same if to make sufficient efforts.
