For roofing works in the market it is possible to find many various rolled materials. The most widespread among them are built up bitumno - polymeric materials which kind is technoelast (TE).
Characteristics of roofing material
Bituminous and polymeric materials are the multilayered system consisting of basis, the bituminous connecting layer and protective topping. High waterproofing abilities, reliability and durability are characteristic of the technoelast. It allows to use material in different weather conditions.
As basis in technoelasta can be applied:
- elastic polymeric material polyester;
- woven material from fiber glass fiber glass fabric;
- nonwoven fabric from fiber glass fiberglass.
The bituminous connecting layer has the main impact on properties of roofing material which has to be waterproof, elastic, frost-resistant and resistant to softening. At the same time, if temperature of its softening is less than 85 wasps, then in the summer the roofing material can begin to slip from surfaces of roofs.
In TE as binding component the bitumen modified by SBS-rubber is used. Thanks to this additive there is bitumen reinforcing by highly elastic fibers of polymer. At the same time technoelast receives big elasticity (to - 25 wasps) and high thermal stability (to 100 wasps).
For protection against the ultra-violet radiation of the brand of the technoelast (type K), the roofs intended for laying of top layer, become covered by coarse-grained topping.
Features of selection
The recommended option for roof from rolled materials is its creation from two layers. At the same time important point is the right choice of various bases. For example, when choosing as both layers of material on the basis of fiberglass the emergence of cracks in roof at the deformations connected with deflections of tie or expansion of cracks when cooling is possible. It is necessary to consider also that fiber glass fabric badly absorbs bitumen that can lead to stratification. Therefore such basis will be more correct to be applied in base layer of roof.
At selection of basis for roof from 2 layers it is necessary to observe one of rules:
- One of layers (it is desirable lower) has to be on the basis of fiber glass fabric.
- Both layers are made of material on polyester basis.
Brands of the technoelast
Technoplast it is marked depending on the komponet making it.
The first letter is type of basis of material:
- Э – polyester;
- T – fiber glass fabric;
- X – fiberglass.
The second and third letters – type of the surface and lower cover of roll:
- To – crumb;
- П – film.
There are following modifications of material:
- EPP and HPP – materials on the basis of polyester (EPP) or fiberglass (HPP). They are covered from two parties with film layers. Can be used for the lower component of roof or for waterproofing of floor, the base, the basement of the room.
- EKP and TKP – materials on the basis of polyester (EKP) or fiber glass fabric (TKP) with coarse-grained topping and layer of film. Can be used for creation of the top component of roof.
The EKP and TKP brands have the increased resistance to ultra-violet radiation and temperature drops.
The EPP and HPP brands differ in high bilateral adhesion. They have to be built up by bottom side well on base roofing, and on other surface of sheets the upper part of roof has to fasten reliably.
Products from the technoelast are presented at the market in several categories:
- The PRIME – product keeps within on base roofing without heating (with use of special mastic);
- The FIX – covering fastens mechanically;
- THERMO – substrate for fusing;
- SOLO – does not demand substrate;
- The DECOR – has 5 flowers and is used for decorative registration of roof;
- The FLAME of FEET – differs in high fire-prevention properties;
- The TITAN – covering with big durability. It can be used on sloping roofs;
- AKUSTIK – covering is used for waterproofing and sound insulation of floors.
Features of laying of the technoplast
The main way of laying of roof from the technoplast is fusing. Thanks to technology innovations, in comparison with similar materials, the area of at the same time warmed surface of this option has increased twice. It allows to accelerate laying of TE, to save gas, to eliminate technical overheating of material.
When using method of fusing the top and base layer of roof are created in the following order:
- The base roofing surface is prepared: it is cleaned from garbage, puttying of cracks, hollows is made.
- For increase in adhesion the prepared surface is grounded by bitumen solution in gasoline.
- The sizes of material are adjusted by the roof size.
- Base roofing and sheets of base layer of roof are warmed.
- Sheets of the technoelast with overlap keep within 8-10 cm and their dense clip.
- The base layer of roof and the top sheets are warmed.
- Materials of top layer on lower with overlap and dense clip keep within. The option intended for upper part (type K) has for overlap special edge on which there is no topping. In the absence of that cleaning of the sheet edge from topping is made.
- The tightness of seams is checked. In case of doubts their repeated warming up is made.
Along with way of fusing the laying of the technoelast can be made with use of bituminous mastic or mechanical fastening of sheets of waterproofing. In the latter case warming up is made only in places where seams are formed.
