Cucumbers are one of the most favourite cultures for cultivation on kitchen gardens. They bring huge benefit to our organism thanks to high content of vitamins and microelements.
Approximately at the beginning or the middle of summer the cucumbers blossom and on them ovaries are formed. Not always this process promotes rapid growth of vegetables. Therefore to accelerate maturing of cucumbers, it is necessary to introduce qualitatively and in time fertilizer and to carry out fertilizing.
First of all it concerns hothouse cucumbers. Continuous influence of the sun and heat take away all moisture and necessary nutrients from plants. At this time surely water cucumbers every day in morning or evening hours.
Fertilizing of cucumbers in the greenhouse
During fructification it is the is best of all nitrogen or potash fertilizers are suitable for fertilizing. Fertilizer can be root and extra root. For root fertilizer use chicken dung or cow manure. They are diluted about 1 to the 10th with warm water and water plants. Be careful with application of chicken dung – at high concentration it causes burns on plants and the subsequent withering. For extra root fertilizer it is possible to use urea in the ratio of 1 tablespoon on bucket of water or "Ovary" - use according to the instruction.
Fertilizing of cucumbers in the open ground
Organic fertilizers, in particular cow manure quite will be suitable for the open ground. It is parted with water and water cucumbers in the evening. It is also possible to use for fertilizing and nitrogen fertilizers.
Regardless of the place of cultivation of cucumbers during their fructification prepare special nettle infusion which is also applied to root fertilizing. By the way it can be used at an interval of two weeks several times. For its preparation the collected nettle is put in the capacity, for example small barrel, filled in with boiled water and covered with cover. Nettle infusion will be ready in one week. Besides nettle it is possible to add horse sorrel and plantain there. For watering of cucumbers infusion is diluted with warm water in proportion 1:1. The nettle contains many nutrients necessary for cucumbers: potassium, magnesium, calcium. Its introduction will give to leaves of cucumbers saturated green color and will increase terms of fructification of plants.
