Under natural conditions host grows in the Far East and in Southeast Asia. Meets also in the territory of Japan, Korea and China.

In the nature of host prefers shady places near reservoirs therefore it is the best of all to land it on personal plot in the semi-shaded place well protected from strong winds and drafts. Well humidified soil with neutral or subacidic acidity is necessary for perennial for full development. In landscaping of host it is perfectly combined with many decorative cultures (for example, with astilba, thuja, geykhery). If desired it can be used also in solo execution in the form of continuous carpet.

Soft Manzhetka

Represents upright bushy plant, in height the reaching about 30-50 cm. This perennial belongs to family Pink and in common people very often is called as "chest grass" or "goose claw". The main feature of this coastal plant consists in its unusual leaves which are allocated with rare property of guttation. The moisture emitted by plant accumulates on surface of sheet plate that visually looks as dewdrop.

The manzhetka during the period from June to August blossoms. Small lime-yellow inflorescences do not draw excessive attention to themselves, however fill air around themselves with captivating honey aroma. As a rule, cultivation of manzhetka does not make special work. This hygrophilous plant possesses extremely powerful root system thanks to which it very quickly expands. Almost all types of manzhetka are frost-resistant, however before approach of winter cold weather the perennial is recommended to be covered with foliage of large-leaved trees carefully.
