The Pompey furnace becomes in several stages between which the technology break is maintained. Obligatory elements are: basis, table-top, dome, offtake. Is made of materials which can sustain high temperatures.
In recent years there were popular Pompey furnaces as it is easy to organize them the hands. Use them not only for baking of the real Italian pizza, but also for home-made bread, pastries and meat dishes. Construction feature – fast heating to the necessary temperatures, long heat preservation. Preparation can be begun during heating at active burning of firewood or on residual heat.
The Pompey furnaces will often be organized near the house. In combination with brazier and gazebo it will become great addition of landscape. It is possible to organize it and at home. Special attention at the same time is paid to the base and the correct offtake.
Construction features
The furnace consists from:
- supports;
- base;
- working space.
The bleeder is always located in front of the oven. It distinguishes it from the tandoor or fireplace. The dome becomes multilayered. The refractory brick processed by clay goes the first layer. The second layer – heat insulator. Normally it is basalt cotton wool which is covered with perlitovy heater. The last level consists of cement. For increase in decorative properties the arch can be trimmed with the mosaic or decorative plaster suitable for use on the street.
The flame in the course of heating directs to the arch, completely envelops it and ceiling. Thanks to it the food is quickly cooked, heating up at once from all directions.
Production of entrance is carried out in the form of arch. It is necessary for laying of firewood and products. Height of arch entrance is 0.6 radiuses, and width is equal to dome height. Inside diameter can be any, but experts recommend to do it not less than 80-90 cm.
If you want to make the furnace independently, at first decide on its type. Allocate Tuscan and Neapolitan. The first version has the high arch, it is considered more universal as allows to cook meat, soups, to cancer. The Neapolitan look is suitable for baking of pizza. Has the small arch.
How to put the Pompey furnace the hands?
For work it will be required:
- refractory shamotny brick;
- facing brick;
- slag stones;
- heat insulation;
- waterproofing;
- cement, sand, crushed stone;
- solution for laying.
At the first stage the design becomes. By drawing up the drawing not only the size and location, but also dome proportions is considered. Standard option: height – 80 cm, the size – 120*120 cm, arch height – 42 cm, inside diameter – 84 cm.
Base
On the place of the planned placement the marking is carried out. It is important to trace that the area of the base was more than the area of pedestal. The ditch has to be not less than 350 mm. On its internal perimeter the wood form is constructed. It is covered with layer of dense polyethylene, crushed stone is fallen asleep for bottom, then – sand layer.
From above all this is dimmed by polyethylene layer. The received waterproofing pillow is filled in with cement in three stages. Between them it is necessary to observe the period, to equal not less than two days.
Reinforcing is carried out only after the level of solution has reached timbering. The basis will be ready for further work not earlier, than in three weeks. If this rule not to observe, the probability of fast deformation of the furnace is high.
Basis
In the future on it the dome and table-top will be located. Pedestal height usually is 80 cm. Sometimes the base is above the ground. In this case height can be a little reduced. The form of this element reminds letter "H" in which the parties are equal to 120 cm. Work will require slag stone with length of each element of 40 cm.
On separate schemes it is possible to see the basis in the form of letter "P". However experts recommend to stop the choice on the first option as the cross wall will be able to undertake the additional weight of design.
Slag stones keep within in the dry way. It assumes material fastening by reinforcing wire. After that it is necessary to fill in cement slurry in emptiness of blocks, to wait 2-3 days before full drying.
Table-top
At first the timbering becomes. That the table-top was the correct size, in front the timbering becomes 20 cm more long. Moisture resistant plywood acts as bottom of timbering. By the sizes specified in your drawing saw boards, hammer together them among themselves. For corners it is recommended to use metal brackets. It is necessary to put armoring lattice with gap in 5 cm.
Now it is necessary to fill in concrete solution, to evenly distribute it, to check construction level. That the table-top became firm, it is necessary to take technology break for a period of week to three.
Furnace
On the dried table-top the circle, with diameter from 90 to 105 cm is drawn. Now it is necessary to lay out continuous row refractory bricks which form under (basis). It is better to use laying zigzag in order that there were no transverse welds. Number elements not to be mistaken at vykladyvaniye.
On table-top one layer of thermal insulation keeps within. From above bricks are laid. Do not forget that it is necessary to define in advance entrance through which firewood and food will be put. For the last in one horizontal line 6 bricks which have to create side give all the best.
That it was simpler to stack dome, it is recommended to make cardboard or plywood template of the crossed semicircular preparations. Further works are carried out on it. The laying begins from entrance and proceeds to back part of dome.
It is necessary to make flue. Depending on the scheme it becomes brick, metal, ceramics. When this element is established, all seams have to be closed up by solution. In several days the construction will become rugged therefore it will be possible to carry out dismantling of sample designs.
For outer lining plaster or clay or ceramic mozayka is used. At absence over canopy design work will require heat-resistant material for inside layer and moisture resistant – for external.
It is possible to use the Pompey furnace not earlier than in two weeks. To the first kindling it is reasonable to apply paper or straw, to the second – brushwood, to the third – chip; for the fourth – small logs. If all tests were passed successfully, the furnace is ready to application.
