Furnace potbelly stove
For heating of dachas the big distribution was received today by iron furnaces. Their device approximately same, as well as bathing furnace. There is only no water part – the top tank for water heating. Such device quickly warms up surrounding air, and on horizontal upper surface it is quite possible to place something for cooking.
Do such furnaces of iron barrels or piece of large diameter pipe with rather thick walls – from 5 mm. On floor the brick basis with the place for ashpit gives all the best. On this basis the iron cylinder without bottom, but with the made upper part and door for fire chamber is put. The door is cut out from body of pipe and is established by plain hinges by means of welding on the former place. On brick aperture the grid-iron separating fire chamber from ashpit keeps within.
The metal pipe is removed outside through ceiling and roof or by means of knee goes to window opening. It is very important to provide fire safety in places of passing of pipe through overlapping or wall. It is also necessary to lay out corner wall brick on furnace height.
The iron furnace requires special attention. Its sides can become red-hot therefore you watch that flammable objects were not near. It is necessary to observe also personal care not to burn.
Furnace Kamenka
If in country house there is enough place, it is better to put the brick capital furnace. It will harmoniously fit into interior of the room and will not make impression of temporary foreign thing. It is possible to place the oven in corner, without occupying the main space. For giving it is not obligatory to do the furnace with numerous wells, it is enough to bring out of fire chamber vertical direct-flow flue on roof in pipe. Spread pipe above as in rainy, rather warm days draft usually bad. Namely in such weather there is also desire to sit at the burning small group, looking at fire and sustaining combustion by the next birch log. On plate let the teapot whistles, releasing water vapor.
If you have decided to lay out independently the Kamenka, remember important feature: at furnace laying mortar has to be purely clay, without sand and the more so without cement.
Furnace outside
Many summer residents for cooking construct primitive open furnaces directly outside. Brick low sidewalls on which the pig-iron plate or the thick sheet of iron is put give all the best. The pipe is not necessary. The openness of back wall is regulated also by brick. In fact, it is a little equipped fire. Such street furnace is irreplaceable when at the dacha there is no electricity, and there are no other opportunities to weld or fry something to table.
