Full-fledged heating services in garage – pleasure expensive. Temporary or even constant exit can begin to bake, using firewood. It is possible to mount it the hands.
Air temperature in the garage room, according to standards, should not fall lower than five degrees of heat Celsius. If to neglect to these rules, the engine of the car will be difficult to be started. As a result it can lead to breakages.
Pluses of the wood-fired furnace
- To bake it is possible to make the hands, its installation does not require complex technology works.

The wood-fired furnace can be several types:
- metal potbelly stove;
- brick furnace;
- furnace of long burning.
The metal potbelly stove can be manufactured of ready barrel, of pipe or scraps of metal. The simplest option – from barrel or pipe. Such furnace is quickly warmed and strongly heats.
The brick furnace begins to heat air only after bricks heat up. Warmly from it softer.
The brick furnace is good for garages which burn daily. For rooms which need to be warmed occasionally it is better to choose metal option.
Main constructive parts of any wood-fired furnace:
- Furnace camera. It is the main compartment in which firewood is put.
- Pipe for smoke conclusion.
- Grid iron. It is necessary for creation of draft. It is placed in the furnace basis.
- Ashpit – compartment under grid in which ashes accumulate.
The grid iron can be bought ready or to make independently of metal sheet. For this purpose cut out piece of metal of the necessary size and do in it several cuts. For the small oven enough cuts 1-1.2 cm wide. For large – 4-5 cm.
Production of the potbelly stove with the metal body from ready barrel
Materials and tools:
- metal barrel of 200 liters with walls from 5 mm thick;
- scraps of steel pipe;
- metal channel;
- scraps of metal sheet;
- several bricks;
- cement;
- axe, hammer, hacksaw;
- welding machine;
- reflector;
- measuring tools (tape measure, rulers).
Step-by-step instruction:
- From barrel accurately cut off top.
- Cut out circle from the sheet of steel diameter a little less, than diameter of barrel. In circle cut out one more circle under pipe.
- The pipe of small diameter is welded on steel circle from above.
- The channel is welded on steel circle from below. It is important to adjust the sizes so that the channel had free wheeling in barrel.
- For cover of design take upper part of barrel or cut out one more circle from steel. In cover cut out opening under small pipe.
- In flank cut out opening under door for laying of firewood. Door it is possible to get ready or to make it independently, to put on loops and to weld. It is important to supply door with the convenient handle.
- Lower do opening for the second door. Through it coals will go away.
- Further make flue. For this purpose take two pipes with a diameter of 15 centimeters. One is welded from above, another sideways, having bent up.
- On the place of future installation of the furnace do the base. It is necessary that the basis under the furnace was fire-resistant. It is enough to lay out the small site of floor brick and to cement.
- All elements of the furnace collect and weld. Parts connect in the direction, the return to following of gases. It is important to watch quality of seams.
Production of the brick furnace
Materials:
- corpulent ceramic brick – about 300 pieces;
- furnace door of 250 by 180 mm in size;
- grid iron of 240 by 250 mm in size;
- podduvalny door of 130 by 130 mm in size;
- latches of 130 by 130 mm in size;
- armature;
- clay mortar.
Step-by-step instruction
- Under the furnace flood the plate base of two centimeters in depth.
- Spread the furnace camera from refractory brick. In front leave windows for door and ashpit.
- At the bottom do ledges for fixing of grid iron of brick fight.
- For laying of cover stack armature on walls. The cover is spread brick in 1-2 rows. It is obligatory to leave opening under flue.
- The flue is also spread brick.
- Other option - can be made cover of the metal sheet laid on walls. Slots cover with clay mortar. It is obligatory to cut in leaf opening under flue. In this case for flue it is possible to use piece of metal pipe.
Important parts
At installation of flue it is important to provide that in need of it it was possible to sort and clean, and then it is easy to establish anew into place.
The recommended flue pipe length – not less than four meters. It is possible to bend pipe at most in three places. At the same time the flex angle washes to be only 30 degrees (45 – in exceptional cases). If it is necessary to make pipe section horizontal, its length should not exceed one meter.
It is desirable to warm pipe section on the street by means of basal cotton wool. It becomes in order to avoid formation of condensate.
It is desirable to record flue at wall not to overload the main design.
It is important to install the potbelly stove far away from those parts of garage where combustibles, lubricant, oil, wooden and other easily flammable objects and materials are stored.
It is obligatory to provide ventilation of garage. Air from the street has to come to the room. There has to be extract for burning products.
