Grade of "Gin" - rather new species of tomatoes which is brought by experts out of Europe. It has won love of agronomists for large fruits and for what well grows and generously fructifies, including without greenhouse. What features of grade? And how to grow up it?
Description of grade
"Geena" treats mid-season types, tomatoes on branches ripen approximately for 110-120 day. Bushes grow to 60 cm in height. The root has from one to three stalks therefore those and do not demand garter. Fruits have the round equal shape, slightly ridge surface. Color is bright red.
Feature of grade – very large fruits weight up to 290 g and even 300 g. From one brush of bush it is possible to collect up to 6 pieces of tomatoes (that is about 1.7 kg). The promised productivity of this species of tomatoes – about 10 kg from 1 square meter.
But besides record productivity, tomatoes are demanded also thanks to unsurpassed quality of taste. In it are perfectly combined sugar and acid thanks to what pulp of fruit has sweetish taste with very small sourness. Pulp under dense elastic thin skin at them juicy and strongly fleshy.
The predecessor of grade of "Gin" - tomatoes of the same hybrid form under the name of "TST Gin". But the new removed grade differs in bigger resistance to emergence of cracks, shifted (since the end on the middle of summer) in maturing terms and also fruits which are slightly reduced by the size.
Surprisingly, but "Gin" is one of the most kept species of tomatoes. If to put the whole tomato in the glass sterilized container which then to put to the cool dark room, then its taste and exterior will remain also after 3 months.
Agrotechnology of cultivation
In the southern regions the landing of seeds of tomatoes is allowed by bezrassadny method. For all other regions seedling should be sowed in March in peat pots in due form. Crops of seeds are possible also at the beginning of April, but it is deadline. The soil has to be friable and without presence of weeds. Fertilizing carries out in two weeks after landing and then with the same interval before the harvesting. It is necessary to do it at the roots late at night not to burn leaves of tomatoes.
One more indisputable advantage of this grade of tomatoes, besides absolute unpretentiousness in leaving, is resistance to serious diseases: fusariosis, phytophthora, rotting of root, vertitsillez.
