Warmly in the house: choice of the heater

There have passed times when for creation of cosiness fire-dangerous heaters were necessary. Now it is much easier to keep heat in the house, using modern heating appliances. However the range them is so big that it is difficult to define at first sight what unit will be suitable for specific case.

There is set of types of heaters, each of which differs in the features (capacity, the principle of work, quantity of the modes). All models have advantages and shortcomings. However they are quite capable to replace traditional fireplaces or blowpipes.

Fan heaters

These are the household heating appliances consisting of several heating coils and, actually, the fan. There are both stationary, and figurative models. These units evenly distribute warm air in small rooms therefore are often used in normal apartments.

Pluses: - rather small price, - fast warming up of the room. Minuses: - combustion of oxygen, - noise during operating time.

Infrared (IK) heaters

These units serve for pointed heating of separate zones as influence surrounding objects (walls, furniture, floor), but not air. It allows to offset heat waste in certain places (for example, near windows). Pluses: - work without noise, - do not dry air, - level temperature between floor and ceiling, - rationally distribute heat. Minuses to call difficult.

The infrared emitter cannot be covered with anything during operating time. Otherwise it can overheat.

Convectors

Such units quickly enough transfer heat by means of air. They are used for heating of small rooms. Life cycle of the convector depends on of what material the heating coil is made: metal or ceramics. Pluses: - high speed of warming up of rooms (at the integral fan), - compactness, - the affordable price, - ceramic heating coils are durable. From minuses it is possible to call combustion of oxygen for devices with open spiral.

Oil heaters

These are the household heating appliances working by the principle of heat emission. They are ideal for long functioning without interruption. The unit housing is filled with special liquid (oil) in which there are heating coils. Characteristics of these devices depend on the power of radiator and construction features. Pluses: - do not burn oxygen, - evenly distribute heat, - do not overheat, - work without noise. Minuses: - big weight, - slow warming up of the room.

What it is necessary to be guided when choosing heating appliance by

When choosing like heating appliance it is necessary to consider not only own preferences, but also conditions in which the unit will work. Important role is played by the room size, availability in it of thermal insulation, quantity of windows and also season. It is not necessary to be guided only by responses or the prices.

If the heater is the only source of heat indoors, the necessary power of the device it is possible to calculate by formula 1 kW of energy on 10 square meters.

For example, when the heating appliance is required to be established in the small room, the convector which is capable to maintain desirable temperature constantly will be ideal. To warm surface of any subject, wall or floor, it is better to use the infrared emitter. If the unit which can be left unguarded is necessary, it is necessary to give preference to oil heaters or any devices with the thermostat.
