What depth is necessary for continuous footing

In the course of construction of the house special attention has to be paid to the base device as it represents basis of all building. Therefore only qualified specialists who will help to make necessary calculations of foundation load have to be involved to its construction. However, if construction of the building, small by the sizes, or baths is supposed, then work can be performed by own forces.

1. Prior to construction of the base it is necessary to decide on type of the soil on which there will be building. The ideal option is considered if the soil has sand-stony consistence, or it is based on gravel or sand. Availability of such soil will facilitate construction of the base and its quality. Also the soil dampness and also depth of laying of continuous footing is important. In case soil is dry, construction of the base can be made right after carrying out preparatory work.

2. The next stage provides removal of soil which thickness is no more half a meter. After that the trench on all perimeter of future house which depth is 0.6 meters escapes.

3. When determining depth of the base, besides the specified data, it is necessary to use the simple rule: the base has to "lay down" below soil freezing point. Therefore in northern areas usually use continuous footing of deep bedding. Small depth will become the reason of deformation and, of course, freezings. Excessive "burying" will lead not only to unreasonable expenditure, but also to high probability to get on underground waters which have property to move between terrestrial layers.

4. The bottom of future base is leveled by means of sand layer, and walls are carried out from boards. After that the design is qualitatively filled in with specially prepared solution.

5. If nevertheless the soil differs in the increased humidity, namely under it there are underground waters, then depth of laying of continuous footing, that is its trench, has to be more. Calculation is made individually for each area as the soil dampness is changeable, and the soil in different places differs in the consistence and structure.

6. Roofing material which keeps within two layers is applied to waterproofing of the base. Then alignment of design by means of the special device - hydrolevel becomes.

7. If the base is located higher than the level of the soil, it is recommended to spread high-quality brick, at the same time not to forget about air vents which are necessary in design. Before house wall construction, special attention should be paid to process of waterproofing.
