Thickness of partition depends on its purpose and material of which it is made. If bookmark warm is required or gobo, thickness of partition will depend on its dimensions.

1. In the conditions of the city apartment the mounting of exclusively plasterboard partitions is possible. If to block apertures brick, it will be considered as internal wall on which installation permission from the designer of the building and many other instances is required.
2. Partition thickness from gypsum cardboard depends on purpose of partition. If it is established as decor, then its thickness depends on the designer's plan. In other words, it can be any, such what is optimum for specific style of interior.
3. If the partition is designed to serve as internal wall, its thickness is chosen, proceeding from need of laying warm and the sound insulator. Therefore it depends on thickness of material which will be put in framework from metalprofile. Most often as warm and the sound insulator use polyfoam 3.5 or 10 cm thick.
4. If laying of any material between sheets of gypsum cardboard is not provided in aperture, it is the simplest to make the partition corresponding to metalprofile width. In this case it will make 67 mm as in the device of such designs software ceiling profile 60/27 is traditionally used. The framework can be built also to two lines, then thickness of partition gets out of reasons of economy of the occupied space. That is, in small-sized rooms it has to be smaller.
5. If the partition from gypsum cardboard has to maintain considerable loading (for example, on it it is going to establish hinged cabinets), then the design will demand strengthening. In this case thickness of partition has to be not less than 10 cm, and it is necessary to build in the strengthened frames and taversa framework. As vertical racks it is recommended to use not metalprofile, and wooden bars with a section of 3/4 cm, 4/5 or 5/5 cm.
6. Basis of wooden partition – framework with various filling. The covering can different too: plywood, SMALLPOX, boards, boards. In calculation of acceptable thickness of such designs it is necessary to consider their weight. It averages 85-130 kg on 1 sq.m. If the lower overlapping is capable to sustain such loading, then it is possible to mount partition of any acceptable thickness, but no more than 15 cm. Therefore it is necessary to make the corresponding calculations to learn whether overlapping will be able to sustain such loading.
