This process which can affect both leaves of trees, and even fruits carries the name "kamedetecheniye". Mainly, it happens to stone fruit-trees. In midland of Russia, it is cherry and plum, in the southern regions, the kamedetecheniye often meets also at apricots, peaches, mulberry. At seeded fruit crops – apple-trees and pears – it occurs many times less often.
Kamedetecheniye can begin for many reasons: because of frost cracks in severe winters, because of damages of trees, inept cutting, defeats by their various wreckers – bugs bark beetles, caterpillars and also defeats by microorganisms. In that place where wood is struck, formation of gum begins. Over time the affected area can increase in sizes, occupying the neighboring areas of healthy wood. According to them, it is necessary to cut off even undoubtedly thickened cherries and drainings very carefully, much more weakly, than, for example, apple-trees. And other gardeners consider that it is better not to cut off cherries and drainings at all. To prevent the beginning of process of kamedetecheniye, it is necessary to treat frost cracks at trees in time, it is correct to water them, to take measures to soil drainage if it is heavy and clay. Good preventive measure spraying of trees the Bordeaux liquid – mix of solutions of copper vitriol and slaked lime is also considered. If defeat has affected the large site, it is the best of all to make cutting to healthy wood.
