In arsenal of agricultural machinery there is such adaptation as the rotor mower which is type of the hinged equipment for the tractor. Mowers can have different characteristics and are selected depending on working conditions, features of the parcel, etc.
The main objective which is carried out by the rotor mower is bevelling of artificial and weed (natural) herbs without violation of agrotechnical requirements.
Rotor mowers happen several types. On functionality they are subdivided into units: - for bevelling of grass and its laying in slope;
- for bevelling of grass and its laying in rolls; - for bevelling and crushing of grass.
On way of installation on the tractor the rotor mowers are divided into hook-on, semi-hinged and hinged. Installation of the cutting system can be front, back or side. The design of the mower can consist of one, two, three or five bars. Mowers can be put in action or from wave of power of the tractor, or from its traveling wheels. The design of rotor mowers is the cutting device installed horizontally which components (knife and the connecting rod) move in one plane. Semi-hinged mowers consist of two bars and are used for bevelling of grass on the big parcels. The system of such mower is quite simple. It represents frame with the fixed anvil wheel and the cutting device. Thanks to the simplicity, the semi-hinged rotor mower costs not much. Such unit works at the expense of wave of selection of power of the tractor. The hook-on mower is used for bevelling of grass on fields of the big area. As a rule, it is equipped three cutting to devices which fasten behind, sideways and in front of the tractor. Work of the hook-on mower is carried out at the expense of wave of selection of power of the tractor. For work on the small parcels the hinged rotor mower is the most suitable. Odnobrusny mowers well cope with objective on uneven sites. Hinged mowers, as a rule, are used for implementation of burst swaths with simultaneous breakdown of the field on shelters.
