In certain cases there is need of change of adult trees for garden. It can be caused by moving on new place of residence for the purpose of preservation of valuable grades of apple-trees, pears, plums and so on or re-planning of the personal plot. When and how it is better to replace adult fruit-trees?
For a start it is necessary to be defined the replaced plant with age. Trees are more senior than 20 years on the new place will not take root and will die. And it is very difficult to move too big apple-trees and pears on the new place. For this purpose the special equipment and devices can be necessary. It is also best of all to refuse replacing of patients and the damaged trees. Anyway this process will occupy large number of time and will take away many forces. But it is possible to keep valuable grades of apple-trees, pears, plums for longer time.
It is better to replace adult fruit-trees in garden when on the street the air temperature is from-6 to-10 degrees. Under such circumstances the earth lump freezes slightly and does not collapse, and trees take root on the new place better. At the same time the root system is not frozen. Therefore it is better to carry out such process in the early spring at the end of February – the beginning of March.
For change of such trees it is required few years. In the first spring around it dig out trench. Diameter of the remained pristvolny earth lump has to reach 1.5-2 m depending on age and the sizes of plant. Depth of trench has to be about 1 m. At the same time thick roots are chopped off. Then the trench is filled with humus or peat and well spilled. It will slow down growth of tree, but it will continue to develop. In the summer on the ends of the chopped-off roots the outgrowth which will help them to transfer change is formed.
The next year take out soil from outer side of the former trench in the early spring not to damage young backs. The lower vertical roots also cut. The excess earth is washed away water or carefully rapped stick. If transportation is required, then roots cover with damp sawdust and burlap.
The new landing hole has to be a little more previous. But too big it cannot be done. It can lead to deepening of tree which will sink under own weight over time. Place adult plant in it. Around earth lump spill out all emptiness soft and nutritious soil. The tree is tied up to stake and it is abundant water. Under it the soil is mulched peat or humus. With approach of warm weather surely introduce all necessary fertilizers which will help to start the growth and development over again again.
Only such change will help to keep the fallen in love adult fruit-trees on the new place.
