Polyfoam – one of the cheapest and convenient materials for warming which is very spread at construction of houses. Producers of these easy heat-insulating plates assure that they are eco-friendly and safe for the person, but many builders do not recommend to use them in premises, claiming that it is toxic material which is especially dangerous when burning.
What is polyfoam?
Polyfoam is the special artificial material consisting of the cellular polymeric weight which emptiness are filled by gas. When burning, polyfoam emits substances, harmful to human body, which can become cause of death from poisoning. Inhabitants of the houses warmed by polyfoam at the fire risk to die from suffocation. Producers claim that for decades of use any case connected with accommodation in the house warmed by polyfoam or work with this heater has not been registered. But rumors about harm of this material continue to be spread, opponents of polyfoam say that it gradually allocates number of the substances menacing to human health: styrene, carbon oxide, ammonia, phenol, benzene. On the one hand, in the market of construction materials it is really possible to find products of unfair producers which can threaten human health, but on the other hand, data on harm of the modern quality, made according to all standards polyfoam do not exist. Perhaps, information on its toxicity is distributed by the firms making other heaters.
