Natural causes of leaf fall
Leaves can turn yellow on natural causes. Foliage of ficuses (depending on species of tree) lives up to three years. After that leaves begin to die off. This plant prefers light, warm placements, and on ficus direct sunshine should not get. Still this plant does not love draft and can react to it dropping leaves. You should not have ficus near fans or heating appliances as it leads to serious temperature differences that negatively affects plant.
