1. The most common cause of blackening of leaves — dryness of air. Leaves spoil even at those plants which careful owners regularly water. But many inhabitants of windowsills are very sensitive to dust and air humidity. If these parameters do not correspond to their requirements — plants get sick. It is especially characteristic of inhabitants of tropics. For example, owners of dragon trees face this problem regularly. Medicine has to be always at hand. It is the most normal sprayer which needs to use not less regularly, than watering can.
2. Remove the damaged leaves. Spray plant and further try to do it more often. At large-leaved window plants it is recommended to wipe leaves also regularly. Best of all to do it by damp foam sponge.
3. Pay attention to how you water plant. Many beginning flower growers consider that the more often to water — the better for plant. But it not always so. If to water plant too seldom, leaves begin to turn yellow and fall down it. And here the modulation leads just to blackening of leaves. It is especially characteristic of flowers which love good drainage and are sensitive to stagnation of water in the soil. Strangely enough, modulation do not love many plants of damp tropics and subtropics. For a start try to remove the turned black leaves and to change the watering mode. If it does not help, replace plant. Dig out it, remove the damaged roots. Powder wounds with wood charcoal. It is better to take pot for change slightly smaller size, than previous. Well wash up it with soda and drench with boiled water. Provide to plant good drainage. For this reason leaves at camellias, begonias and even unpretentious geraniums quite often blacken.
4. Look how often you fertilize flowers. Regular fertilizing is shown not everyone. The balanced fertilizers are necessary for each group. Their surplus is also harmful, as well as shortcoming. In particular do not love frequent fertilizing of plant, accustomed to poor low-nutritious soils. Can suffer from surplus of mineral substances including marsh and aquarian plants.
